Join us on Tuesday March 3rd for our next Full Moon-th On-line Meetup! Our guest will be Dr. Jon Friedrich, Professor of Chemistry at Fordham University where he teaches Analytical Chemistry and Planetary Science.
Invite a friend or family member
Sacred Space Astronomy subscribers are encouraged to invite a friend or family member to attend this particular Full Moon meetup, to get a taste of what the Vatican Observatory and the Foundation do, and be able to chat with a prominent planetary scientist! (A couple, actually!)

Our tradition of hosting online meetups with our Sacred Space Astronomy members and the Vatican Observatory staff, scholars and friends during the Full Moon in Tucson (or thereabout) continues on Tuesday March 3, 2026 at 10:00 AM Tucson time (Mountain Standard Time time), 12:00 Noon Eastern Daylight time, or 17:00 UTC.
This meetup is a perk for our Sacred Space Astronomy subscribers- you get to chat with each other, and astronomers and scientists from the Vatican Observatory!
We’ll also have the latest astronomy news and an update about the Vatican Advanced Technology Telescope1.

Jon Friedrich is a prominent researcher at Fordham University specializing in planetary science, cosmochemistry, and meteoritics. His work focuses heavily on the physical and chemical characterization of meteorites to better understand the formation and history of the solar system.
He has been a key collaborator in the study of significant meteorite events, including the Chelyabinsk airburst. He frequently collaborates with major institutions and researchers to provide three-dimensional petrography and chemical studies of extraterrestrial materials.
He has searched for meteorites on the ice in Antarctica as part of the Antarctic Search for Meteorites program, and he has frequently collaborated with our own Br. Bob Macke, SJ!
