Join us April 6th for our the next Full Moon-th Meetup where we’ll chat with Fernando Comerón – Deputy Director for Science at European Southern Observatory.
Our tradition of hosting online meetups with our Sacred Space Astronomy members and the Vatican Observatory staff, scholars and friends during the Full Moon in Tucson (or thereabout) continues on Thursday April 6th at 12:00 Noon ET (9:00 AM Tucson time).
We’ll also have the latest news of the Vatican Advanced Technology Telescope*.
This meetup is a perk for our Sacred Space Astronomy subscribers: on Thursday April 6th, we’ll be holding our regularly scheduled on-line meetup where you get to chat with each other, and astronomers and scientists from the Vatican Observatory!
Since April 1, 2013, Spanish astronomer Fernando Comerón has been the Representative of ESO in Chile — ESO’s representative of the organisation’s Director General in the country. He has been a long-time friend of the Vatican Observatory, and hosted a visit to Chile for members of the Vatican Observatory Foundation staff in 2016.
Comerón, being a frequent user of ESO’s observing facilities in Chile himself, has focused his research on the study of galactic structures, large scale star formation, very low mass stars and brown dwarfs, stellar kinematics, and the dynamics of the interstellar medium. During his career, he has authored over 150 publications in these fields in international professional journals. – ESO
When? Thursday, April 6th: Rain or shine
What time? These meetups will happen around lunch time in North America: in particular, 12:00 PM Eastern Standard Time, which is 9:00 AM Tucson time.
