Just for our paying members: on August 3, a week from when we are posting this, we’ll be holding our traditional (this is our third one, so it’s a tradition now!) on-line meetup where we get to know and chat with each other, and with astronomers from the Vatican Observatory.

Jean Baptiste Kikwaya Eluo SJ, who will talk about his work at the VATT characterizing Near Earth Objects… the array of cameras he helped set up in southern Arizona to track fireballs… and his meteoric path from the Congo, into the Jesuits, to Belgium, to Paris, to Canada, to Tucson!
What date? Monday, August 3: this is the date of Full Moon in Tucson (which occurs in the morning, Tucson time).
What time? As before, these meetups will happen around lunch time in North America: in particular, 10 am Tucson time, which is 1 pm Eastern Daylight Time. (Tucson does not go on daylight time; so if this becomes popular enough to continue, once wintertime begins we may have to adjust this time accordingly.)
