The Vatican Observatory has won an award in the community engagement category of Springer Nature’s “What does a scientist look like?” Project. I wrote about this project last April, in a article titled “Nature’s “Where I Work” Photography Exhibition at King’s Cross Shows Br. Guy Consolmagno“
The “What does a scientist look like?” Project
Several images of scientists at work were part of a photography exhibition on photobenches in King’s Cross; each image had a QR code that took the viewer to a nature.com website with an article about the scientist and the types of work that they do. The entry for the Vatican Observatory used this very nice image of Br. Guy Consolmagno at a Vatican Observatory telescope – the QR code linked to the article “Serving science and the Church as the Pope’s astronomer.“
