Kurzynski, reflecting on the Exsultet (Praeconium Paschale) of the Easter Vigil, writes, “As a hobby astronomer, it is rather easy for me to see the night as sacred, imagining the stars and planets I can gaze upon with the naked eye as reminders of the hundreds of candles that burn at the Easter Vigil, taking their light from the Paschal flame.”
