A seven-part series of articles on the Church and Science, published by Aleteia in the winter of 2024-2025, covering Galileo, evolution, and the problem of the two Great Lights.
The central argument in the Aleteia series is that, from its early days, the Church has been attentive to Science and willing to accommodate scientific discoveries (even when those discoveries contradict a plain reading of Scripture) while also trying to ensure that the science is solid before accommodation is made. The process for doing this has been imperfect but needed.
