A St. Valentine’s day post by Fr. James Kurzynski on The Catholic Astronomer, who compares how hagiographies can sometimes exaggerate the attributes of certain saints to the point that we need to question their accuracy, to how the process of digital “enhancement” of night sky objects can alter the appearance of a star, nebula, galaxy, or cluster to the point that the “true image” of the object is lost. In spite of the exaggeration, the star itself or saint himself still does exist and is worth studying.
